Fire at an industrial plant in Engels localized
A fire at an industrial enterprise in Engels, which was caused by an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has been localized. This was reported by the governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin on January 13.
"As of 14:00 there are periodically small pinpoints of open burning, which are promptly eliminated by fire departments," he wrote in Telegram-channel.
The governor noted that specialists call the process controlled and exclude the threat of large-scale spread of the fire. According to him, specialized services continue to do everything necessary for the complete elimination of the fire.
The day before Busargin reported on the continuation of controlled fuel burnout after the UAV attack. Then he noted that specialists are working around the clock to eliminate the fire.
On January 8, the governor of the Saratov region reported that Saratov and Engels were subjected to a massive UAV attack and one of the industrial enterprises was damaged.
Later, an operational headquarters was deployed at the enterprise burning after the drone attack. Busargin then added that the forces and means to localize the fire are enough. It is known that two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were killed while eliminating the fire, another injured employee was in hospital as of January 9.
The armed forces of Ukraine are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to Ukrainian shelling.
