Weather forecaster warned Muscovites about snow this week
The first half of the week will be moderately frosty in Moscow and the Moscow Region, leading specialist of the Meteonovosti information agency Tatyana Pozdnyakova told Izvestia. According to her, the night of January 14 will be the coldest, and snow is expected during the day.
"Most likely, the night of January 14 will indeed be the coldest this week, because it will freeze in Moscow to -5...-7, in the region to -8 degrees. The daytime temperature tomorrow in Moscow will also be negative, -1...-3 degrees. Tomorrow afternoon there will be snow from time to time, will fall another 1-3 mm of precipitation. The weather will be winter, although the background temperature will remain above the climatic norm by two or three degrees", - explained the forecaster.
According to her, Atlantic cyclones will determine the weather in the following days. They will bring precipitation: snow and wet snow. But in small quantities. The air temperature in the night and daytime hours will begin to rise gradually. On the night of January 15, the minimum temperature is expected to be between 0 and -2, and the daytime temperature is expected to be around 0. On all other days, including Saturday and Sunday, January 18 and 19, night and daytime temperatures will be around 0.
"During the night hours [forecast] slightly negative temperatures, daytime temperatures will be within +1...+3. That is, the air temperature will be above the climatic norm by somewhere around six degrees, even seven degrees. Unseasonably warm weather will last up to and including Sunday, but this does not mean that the end of January will be as warm as the middle of the month," Pozdnyakova concluded.
Earlier, on January 10, Pozdnyakova told Izvestia that the second half of winter in the capital will be warm. At the same time, she noted that the lowest temperature in the current month will be observed in the last five days. In addition, the expert suggested that, most likely, the baptismal frosts in the city will not take place.
