Over the past weekend, 370 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 47 people were killed and 454 injured. 32 of the dead were drivers and passengers of vehicles. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Monday, January 13, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The collision of a cab car with a suburban passenger electric train through the fault of the cab driver, who violated traffic rules, occurred at a railroad crossing in Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region. On a regional highway in snowy conditions, a 40-year-old cab driver decided to skip the crossing at a prohibited traffic signal. As a result of the accident, a female passenger died in the cab car, while the driver and another passenger were hospitalized with serious injuries.

As the analysis of accidents at railway crossings has shown, such accidents most often occur at unregulated crossings, where drivers, not convinced of the safety of the maneuver, try to pass in front of a nearby train. Trying to win a few seconds of the way, they end up endangering not only their own lives, but also the lives and health of their own passengers, railway staff, passengers of electric trains and long-distance trains, noted in the State Traffic Inspectorate.

The agency emphasized that the passage of railway crossings is considered dangerous and requires the driver's focus and maximum attention. So, in the traffic rules there is a direct prohibition of exit to the railroad crossing outside it. The maneuver is impossible when the barrier is closed or closing, or when the traffic light or the crossing officer is prohibited. Stopping or parking at a railroad crossing is also prohibited, and if it happens in emergency conditions, for example, when a car breaks down, the driver must immediately drop off people to get away to a safe distance, and take measures to clear the crossing - tow or push the car off the tracks. In addition, the driver moving through the railroad crossing, must be extremely careful in the dark, as well as in adverse weather conditions and limited visibility, indicated in the State Traffic Inspectorate.

With the participation of buses on the roads of the Russian Federation recorded 20 accidents, in which there were no fatalities, but 29 road users were injured. The cause of 11 accidents with buses were violations of traffic rules committed by their drivers. As a result of 115 accidents, 53 of which occurred at crosswalks and 62 out of their zone of action, 15 pedestrians were killed and another 103 were injured of varying severity. Among the injured pedestrians were 16 children under the age of 16. With the participation of minors over the weekend, 45 road accidents were registered, as a result of which 54 young road users were injured, including 35 passengers. One child pedestrian died.

Thus, in the city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Krasnodar region in the daytime the driver of a cargo "Gazelle" made a hit-and-run on a two-year-old boy, who suddenly ran out under the wheels of the truck from behind a parked car on the roadway. The deceased child was unaccompanied by adults, did not attend preschool.

"We urge parents to control the behavior of their young children, in no case letting them go out alone, unsupervised. Lack of parental control over the behavior and leisure time of children of preschool and primary school age often leads to injury or death of young road users. In addition, drivers are advised to be more attentive on the roads of settlements and cities. People behind the wheel should be especially careful when passing places of accumulation of parked vehicles, because of which the sudden appearance of underage pedestrians is possible. Always remember that the behavior of small children, temporarily left without adult control, is often unpredictable," - said "Izvestia" deputy head of the department of road safety propaganda and prevention of child traffic injuries of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Anton Belan.

January 9, it was reported that from January 1 to 8, 1842 accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 265 people were killed and 2697 injured. As a result of 428 accidents involving pedestrians killed 65 people, another 383 were injured of varying severity.
