The waste recycling complex in Tula was recognized as one of the best ones
The new waste recycling complex "KPO Tula" was included in the list of the most significant investment projects in the sphere of solid municipal waste management in 2024. This is reported by the press service of the Russian Environmental Operator.
The Tula enterprise accepts 480 thousand tons of waste annually for treatment, of which 209 thousand tons are sent for utilization. The complex is the first in Russia to use an innovative technology - hydro-separation. The method allows separating solid waste depending on its density into fractions in a water environment.
The cost of the project amounted to 5.8 billion rubles, of which 1.5 billion rubles was invested by the REO, writes TSN24.
Also the most significant projects in the waste management sphere were KPO Ostrovsky and KPO Kingisepp in the Leningrad region, KPO Volkhonka in St. Petersburg and EcoLine-VtorPlast in the Moscow region.
Earlier Izvestia wrote that Russian scientists are working on biodegradable film. However, according to experts, it will still not be possible to radically solve the problem of plastic waste.
