Former Spartak Moscow soccer club player Quincy Promes owes more than 500 thousand rubles to the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia. This follows from the data of open sources, with which "Izvestia" got acquainted on January 13.
The Dutch footballer is a co-owner of LLC Promes.
Earlier, in August last year, the Federal Tax Service blocked the accounts of the footballer's company "Restbar", which specialized in the sale of dishes. It was specified that the firm was behind the fines.
At the end of February last year Promes was not released from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and imprisoned, because of which he missed the match with Zenit. The press service of the Dutch prosecutor's office told Izvestia that the footballer's detention was "due to a local offense." According to some reports, he got into an accident on the territory of the UAE and fled the scene of the accident.
In the Netherlands, two criminal cases have been opened against the soccer player. One of them - on the fact of stabbing his cousin, for which he was sentenced in absentia to 18 months in prison. The second case concerns his involvement in the importation of more than a ton of cocaine through the port of the Belgian city of Antwerp, the court in Amsterdam sentenced the athlete in absentia to six years in prison. On March 1, the Netherlands began discussions with the UAE authorities on Promes' extradition.
In May, the footballer was released from custody in Dubai. The newspaper De Telegraaf specified that it happened under certain conditions, Promes will wait for the court decision on extradition in the Netherlands at large.
In July, Spartak announced that the athlete was leaving the club. In September, Promes signed a one-year contract with Dubai United. It was reported that the court in Amsterdam postponed indefinitely the hearings on both appeals of the Dutch footballer in criminal cases.
Promes played for Spartak from 2014 to 2018, returned to the soccer club in 2021 and played for the club until 2024.
