UAZ has started testing the Patriot with a new engine

The first image of the new version of the Ulyanovsk SUV, which is equipped with a diesel engine, was shared by Izvestia's own source at the enterprise on January 13. He said that the photos were taken before the start of factory tests of the car. The UAZ press service confirmed this information.

"The team of testers began a voluminous program of tests of the new in the line modification "UAZ Patriot", - told "Izvestia" in the press service of the Ulyanovsk automobile plant.

The debut of the model is scheduled for the IV quarter of this year. The SUV will receive the same diesel engine as the UAZ Profi light truck. This is a two-liter unit, the production of which is established at the plant "Sollers Alabuga". On commercial vehicles Sollers Argo it develops 130 hp (288 Nm).

Now "Patriot" is offered with a non-alternative 2.7-liter engine "ZMZ-Pro" with an output of 150 hp (235 Nm), which works in combination with a 5-speed manual transmission.

On January 10, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant reported that the best-selling vehicles in the UAZ model range in 2024 were commercial vehicles of the UAZ SGR ("Bukhanka") family. In total, almost 36 thousand UAZ vehicles were sold in Russia in 2024.
