Rehabilitation of the 2nd Nikolo-Khovansky pond has been completed in New Moscow. This was reported by Deputy Mayor of the capital on housing and public utilities and landscaping Pyotr Biryukov on January 10.
According to him, the pond was in unsatisfactory condition. Silt deposits accumulated on the bottom, active blooming of the water area was registered, local destructions of the coastal strip were observed.
Specialists of the municipal economy complex within the framework of the project cleaned from silt the water body with an area of more than 2.7 hectares, strengthened the coastal strip and formed zones of bioplato, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".
"Cleaning from silt deposits was carried out without a complete release of water with the use of a floating dredger. This allowed to return the purified water to the pond, preserving the usual conditions for fish and microorganisms," - quotes Biryukov IA Regnum.
The specialists also formed slopes, strengthening them with gabion structures filled with granite rubble. Walking paths were arranged for citizens. At the final stage of work specialists organized three zones of bioplato with a total area of 150 square meters, in them will be planted 2.5 thousand aquatic plants, specifies "Moscow 24".
