Residents of Moscow in 2024 took away almost 1.7 thousand pets from the city shelters. This is reported on the website of the Moscow mayor's office on January 11.

Thus, citizens since 2015 have sheltered more than 24.6 thousand dogs and almost 7 thousand cats from 13 city shelters. Now more than 16 thousand animals are waiting to meet their future owners, writes the website kp.ru. All of them are sterilized and vaccinated, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".

For example, kitty Multik went home from the exhibition-adoption of animals. Now he lives in the family of the director of the Museum of Moscow municipal economy. Thanks to the same exhibition in 2022, puppies Sema and Laspi found a new home. A spacious enclosure was made for them, a cynologist was invited for training.

According to Yulia Kazantseva, a specialist in socialization and adaptation of animals of the shelter, when choosing an animal, it is worth considering your lifestyle and temperament of a potential pet. As IA Regnum notes, a puppy and a kitten require more attention, but they adapt more quickly to the owner's lifestyle.

Muscovites can visit the shelters any day from 13:00 to 17:00, except Monday and Friday. It is necessary to have a passport with you, specifies "Moscow 24".

On January 9, the action of assistance to animal shelters "Help a Friend" ended in the Moscow region. It was attended by more than 44 thousand people, including teachers, schoolchildren and students of the region, reports 360.ru.

In August, the president of the fund to help homeless animals "Nika" Vera Mitina in a conversation with NSN said that the staff of animal shelters are trying to maximize the adaptation of pets to life in society. She urged those wishing to take a pet from the shelter and not to dismiss adult dogs and cats.
