Men selling candy with drugs were detained in the Sverdlovsk region
In the Sverdlovsk region, police detained two men suspected of selling gift chocolates containing banned substances. This was reported by the official representative of the Interior Ministry Irina Volk on January 13.
The men rented an apartment in the town of Talitsa, where they grew mushrooms containing banned substances, chopped them up and poured chocolate in the form of candy hearts. The suspects packaged the finished product in gift wrappers and sold at a price of about 1 thousand rubles per piece, thus the attackers earned about 600 thousand rubles a month.
"In the course of searches found about 400 ready-to-sell candies, more than 1 kg of packaged illegal goods, more than 300 growing mushrooms and other items of evidentiary value", - stated in the message of the official representative of the interior Ministry in Telegram-channel.
It is specified that law enforcement officers detained the defendants at their place of residence and initiated criminal proceedings on the grounds of crimes under Art. 228.1 ("Illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogs, as well as the illegal sale or transfer of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances") and 231 ("Illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or their precursors") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
During the investigation it became known that the men had previously been convicted for committing similar acts.
Earlier, on January 8, it was reported that police officers in Krasnoyarsk began to check information about drug advertisements found on a package of dried fruit. A local resident has told "Izvestia" that he bought a box with apricots in the store "Vegetables and fruits". After scanning the QR code printed on the package, he came across an advertisement of prohibited substances.
