Sberbank has revealed the operation of an educational institution that trains fraudsters and hackers. This was reported on January 13 by the bank's deputy chairman of the board Stanislav Kuznetsov.

According to him, the university operates in an online format and regularly attracts "listeners" via the darknet. The curriculum includes courses, special materials and exams, and the duration of training is seven weeks.

"According to our data, 10,000 people have been trained, 20,000 people wanted to be trained, that is, there is also a competition there," Kuznetsov told RIA Novosti.

The deputy chairman of the bank drew attention to the fact that to work in this area do not need special knowledge, but recently there are higher requirements. For example, callers who act according to template scripts should have the skill of rubbing in trust and the ability to plausibly fulfill their role.

Kuznetsov added that people who speak the languages of Eastern European, Western European countries and the Baltic States are currently being selected for this position in order to expand the geography of criminal activity.

Earlier, on January 11, Kuznetsov said that the main fraudulent schemes in 2025 will continue to be obtaining fraudulent data to steal an account on "Gosuslugi", messages in messengers on behalf of the head and calls allegedly from Russian agencies. Attackers have also started forcing people to open accounts in less secure banks, he said. According to the deputy chairman, this problem should be solved systematically and by all market players.
