"Barcelona" defeated "Real" and won the Super Cup of Spain
Soccer Club (FC) Barcelona defeated Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup with a score of 5:2. This is reported on January 13 newspaper "Sport-Express".
Rafinha scored a double for the winners (39th and 48th minutes), one goal each was scored by Lamine Yamal (22), Robert Lewandowski (36, penalty) and Alejandro Balde. For Real Madrid, forward Kylian Mbappe (5) and Rodrigo (60) distinguished themselves.
In the 56th minute FC Barcelona were left in the minority, as Wojciech Szczęsny received a red card due to Mbappe's foul. Rodrigo helped Real Madrid pull one back four minutes later.
"Barcelona" became the winner of the Spanish Super Cup for the 15th time. FC remains the record holder of the tournament. "Real" comes second with 13 trophies.
Before that, on December 30, 2024, the South American footballer, winner of the America's Cup in 1975 Peruvian Hugo Sotil died at the age of 78. The player helped Barcelona win their first league title in 14 years, but the following season he lost his place in the base to Dutchman Johan Neskens, and when he got the chance to play again in the 1975/76 season, he was already in bad shape.
