Due to bad weather in the area of St. Petersburg's Pulkovo airport, 33 airplanes left for alternate airfields. This was reported on Sunday, January 12, by Rosavichy spokesman Artem Korenyako.

"According to the data as of 12:35 Moscow time, 33 airplanes flying to St. Petersburg landed on alternate airfields, primarily Moscow," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to a spokesman for the agency, heavy rainfall in the form of snow continues near Pulkovo. In this regard, the air harbor still does not send or receive flights.

Preliminarily, the restrictions will last until 13:20 Moscow time, specified Korenyako. Specialists continue to monitor the situation at the airport in the interests of passengers.

The North-West Transport Prosecutor's Office controls observance of passengers' rights in connection with delays of flights in Pulkovo.

In the morning of January 12, Pulkovo reported the suspension of aircraft reception and dispatch due to difficult weather conditions and the need to clear the runway of snow.

Later, access to the departure area of domestic flights was restricted to ensure comfortable accommodation for passengers for the waiting period. Those at the airport were asked to use other lounges. Water was provided to passengers.
