Media reported a record growth of Russian chocolate supplies to the U.S.

TheUnited States has tripled imports of Russian cocoa products, especially chocolate, by the end of 11 months of 2024. This was reported on January 12 by "RIA Novosti" with reference to the data of the U.S. statistical service.

In the period from January to November last year, the sum of these purchases of cocoa and cocoa products amounted to $2.48 million, which was the maximum level compared to the same periods of the three previous years.

The November 2024 level was also a record high. During this month, Americans purchased Russian cocoa for the maximum since January 2022, $389 thousand.

In July 2024, Russia's trade representative in Nigeria Maxim Petrov announced the start of direct imports of cocoa beans from the African country, which is the fourth largest producer of the product in the world. The goal was said to be diversification of supplies.
