Valery Demin, People's Artist of Udmurtia, died at the age of 82

Valery Demin, People's Artist of the Udmurt Republic and Honored Artist of Russia, died at the age of 82. This was announced by the Minister of Culture of Udmurtia Vladimir Solovyev on January 11.

He called Demin an outstanding artist who gave the stage of the State Opera and Ballet Theater of the Udmurt Republic named after P. I. Tchaikovsky for more than 40 years.

"For all of us he will remain an example of dedication and sincere love for art. We are saddened and express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Valery Ivanovich. His bright image will forever remain in our hearts," the minister said on his VKontakte page.

Solovyov added that Demin performed all the central roles in classic operettas and musical comedies: "The Merry Widow", "The Queen of Czardasz", "La Bayadera", "Die Fledermaus", "The Gypsy Baron". He filled the audience, among other things, on the images of Alfred in "La Traviata", Vodemon in "Iolanta", Herman in "Queen of Spades" and Prince in "Rusalka", adds " Gazeta.Ru".

Valery Demin was born in 1942 in the Orenburg region. He is a graduate of the course of musical comedy at the Leningrad College of the Conservatory. In 1968, he was enrolled on the staff of the State Musical Theater of the UASSR and performed on its stage for 40 years.
