A criminal case of espionage was opened against a resident of the LNRR
In the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), a former Ukrainian citizen engaged in espionage activities has been detained and a criminal case has been opened (Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, "Espionage"). This is reported on January 11 by the Department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in the region.
"Unlawful activity of a former citizen of Ukraine, acting in the interests of a foreign state," - stated in the message of the agency.
It is established that the resident of the LNR received assignments from the security service of Ukraine (SBU). Fulfilling them, he collected data on the dislocation of units of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation and passed them to the Ukrainian special services.
Before that, on December 16, 2024, the Supreme Court of the LNR passed a sentence on 20-year-old Ukrainian citizen Danil Fisun in the espionage case (Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), sentencing him to 17 years in a strict regime colony. According to the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, from April to May 2023, the defendant voluntarily collected information about the movement and locations of Russian servicemen on the territory of the LNR.
