Terrorist attack case opened after UAV attack on apartment building near Tambov
A criminal case of a terrorist act (paragraph "a" and paragraph "v" of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) has been opened after an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on a multi-storey building in Tambov. This was reported by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia on Saturday, January 11.
The agency recalled that the attack was carried out on the night of January 11 by Ukrainian armed formations on a house in the town of Kotovsk, Tambov region.
"As a result of the terrorist act there are casualties among civilians, two apartment buildings were damaged," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the IC of Russia.
Investigators intend to establish and bring all those involved in the commission of the crime to criminal responsibility.
On Saturday night, two Ukrainian drones attacked two five-story buildings in Kotovsk. No fires were recorded. According to the latest data, seven people were injured. It was reported that as a result of the impact in the houses windows were broken out and balconies were damaged. Evacuation was not carried out. The liquidation of the consequences of the arrival is coordinated by the operative staff created at night.
Later it was reported that the regional government declared a state of emergency in Kotovsk after a night attack by two Ukrainian drones on apartment buildings.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022.
