Stalker HC founder Zaitsev died during a training session

The founder of the amateur hockey club (HC) "Stalker", playing in the Night Hockey League, Alexei Zaitsev died at the 55th year of life. This was reported on January 11 by the press service of "Stalker" in Telegram.

"Yesterday Alexey Vladimirovich Zaitsev did not become. Our dear friend, an excellent hockey player, head of the hockey team "Stalker" and our arena", - stated in the message.

It is noted that the arena was Zaytsev's life's work. In addition, he worked hard for the sake of everyone who wanted to go out on the ice. The sportsman created a place where people can improve their skills every day and grow up.

According to the club, the hockey player died on January 10. The causes of death are not specified.

Team manager Alexander Artyushkin told TASS that the presumed cause of the hockey player's death could be a torn blood clot. He added that Zaytsev died during an evening training session.

Zaitsev founded the Stalker HC in 2014. The team won the Night Hockey League in 2017 and received a grant of 100 million rubles. These funds were used to build an ice arena in the Kurkino district of Moscow.
