- Roscosmos head calls Russian cosmonaut training system the best in the world
The Russian system of training cosmonauts for space flight is the best in the world. This is also recognized by Russia's foreign partners. This was stated by Yury Borisov, Director General of Roscosmos, during the congratulation of the staff of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (GTC) on the 65th anniversary of its establishment on January 10. The video is published on the website of the CPC.
According to him, the domestic system of preparation for space flight remains the best as before. "Our foreign colleagues" also agree with this, Borisov added.
"They [foreign colleagues] are still interested in partnership in space exploration, which is a global task for all mankind," the head of the state corporation said.
Earlier, on December 28, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on ratification of an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation with Tajikistan in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
Prior to that, on December 24, Borisov said that Russia is in third place in creating a national space constellation. According to him, the constellation currently has about 288 satellites. In 2024, Roscosmos will launch 99 new satellites, not counting the Resurs-P satellite planned for the end of the year.
