MP reported on possible pension increase again in February

Russian pensioners may once again increase their pensions in February. This was announced on January 10 by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, in a conversation with "Moscow 24".

The parliamentarian noted that insurance pensions were increased by 7.3% on January 1. At the same time, she said, it is not excluded that in February the government may carry out additional indexation.

"If (and everything shows that it will be) annual inflation will exceed the forecasted value, the government is just authorized to conduct additional indexation. And the Labor Ministry has already stated that this may happen," Bessarab told.

The MP also recalled that from February 1, the fixed payment to the pension of citizens who reached the age of 80 in January and received the I group of disability will double. If earlier the payment amounted to 8728.73 rubles, now it will be 17 457.46 rubles.

Bessarab explained that all increases in payments and indexation will take place automatically.

Earlier, on January 8, Duma deputy and member of the Committee on Budget and Taxes Nikita Chaplin said that in 2025 Russian pensioners will have to adapt to new economic conditions when planning their pension savings.

According to the parliamentarian, an important criterion for this will be earnings: to earn one pension point, citizens must receive at least 275,900 rubles per year, reports IA Regnum.
