Two people killed and 12 injured in AFU shelling of the DNR
Two women were killed and 12 other people, including a teenage girl, were injured when the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the territories of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported by the head of the DNR Denis Pushilin on January 10.
"In the town of Svetlodarsk in the urban district of Debaltsevo as a result of the enemy's use of rocket artillery of 122 mm caliber, women born in 1958 and 1948 were killed. Severely wounded a teenage girl born in 2008 and a woman born in 1964," Pushilin wrote in his Telegram-channel.
In addition, another woman born in 1968 and five men born in 1998, 1975, 1970, 1960 and 1959 were moderately wounded in Svitlodarsk.
In the Kievsky district of Donetsk near the Moloko supermarket, the AFU used a U.S. HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) with fragmentation rockets. Two women born in 1963 and 1940, a supermarket employee - a young man born in 2002, and a man born in 1968, who is an employee of a public utility company, were injured. All the victims are receiving the necessary assistance.
Nine residential houses and eight civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, including a power transmission line (PPL) and a research institute in the Kievskyi district of Donetsk, Svetlodarsk and Horlivka. Twenty-three private cars were also damaged there.
Over the day, the armed formations of Ukraine (AFU) carried out more than 15 strikes, using an attack drone, 155 mm caliber barrel artillery and rocket artillery of two calibers - 122 and 227 mm.
Earlier in the day it was reported that during the Ukrainian shelling of Svetlodarsk a shell hit a residential house.
At the same time the AFU struck the supermarket "Milk" in the Kievsky district of Donetsk. "Izvestia" published a video of the attack. At least two HIMARS missiles were fired at the store.
In addition, the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to Ukrainian War Crimes (JCCC) reported that the AFU shelled populated areas in the Gorlovka direction of the DNR 32 times during January 9.
Ukrainian militants have been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid the special operation to protect Donbas, the start of which was announced by Russia on February 24, 2022.
