Two people were killed as a result of a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Donetsk. This was reported on Friday, January 10, in the press service of the Main Military Investigation Directorate of the Russian Federation's Investigative Committee.

"As a result of the shelling among the civilian population, two people were killed and two more were wounded. Residential houses and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged," the agency's Telegram channel said in a statement.

The IC noted that the missile strike, presumably using a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), on the civilian infrastructure of Donetsk was targeted.

Earlier in the day, the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) reported that the AFU shelled populated areas in the Gorlovka direction of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) 32 times during the day. They also hit the Moloko supermarket in the Kievskyi district of Donetsk.

Ukrainian militants have been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid the special operation to protect Donbas, the start of which was announced by Russia on February 24, 2022.
