The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have scattered Lepestok (PFM-1) and Kolokolochik mines on a street in the village of Bolshey Soldatskoye in Kursk Region. This was reported by the head of Bolshezoldatskoye district Vladimir Zaitsev on January 10.

"I inform you that on the territory of Bolshezoldatsky district is still dangerous. Today on the street 8-Marta street of the village Bolshoye Soldatskoye scattered mines "Petals" and "Bells"," he wrote in his Telegram.

Thus, Ukraine has once again violated the Ottawa treaty, which prohibits the transfer and use of anti-personnel mines.

Earlier, on December 4, the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) said that the United States was violating international humanitarian law by supplying Ukraine with anti-personnel mines. Representatives of the organization specified that anti-personnel mines were banned 25 years ago because of their indiscriminate nature and the devastating damage they cause to humans.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
