Chelyabinsk authorities close ice towns because of the thaw

In Chelyabinsk, the city's main ice town on Revolution Square and slides in the Victory Garden and Yuri Gagarin parks were closed. The reason - plus temperatures.

The city administration told IA "Ura.ru" that the measures in recreation areas have been introduced since 14:00 Friday, January 10.

Also in the coming days may be introduced additional restrictions. The decision will be made taking into account the weather forecasts. The permissible air temperature for visiting the slides is from -40 to -3 degrees.

Earlier, leading specialist of the information agency "Meteonovosti" Tatyana Pozdnyakova said that the capital region from the middle of next week expects weather close to thaw. The alternation of waves of heat and relative cold will continue in Moscow and the Moscow region until the end of January, the meteorologist believes.
