A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg over the fact of carbon monoxide poisoning of three children in the apartment of a residential building. This was reported on January 10 by the Main Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the city in Telegram-channel.
"Three minors, being in the apartment of a residential building on Tkachey Street, as a result of carbon monoxide received acute inhalation poisoning. Further children were hospitalized in the hospital, where they are receiving medical care," - written in the message.
It is specified that investigators are carrying out a set of actions, which is aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident, as well as the guilty parties.
A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements").
Earlier, on January 9, it became known that the Prosecutor's Office of Nevsky district of St. Petersburg is checking the information about three minor children seeking medical help. The children were poisoned by carbon monoxide. The mother of the victims told "Izvestia" that the gas column in the apartment, from which the children were hospitalized, was in good working order.
