A 17-year-old girl died in the apartment of a house in Ulan-Ude of the Republic of Buryatia, she was found in the toilet after she locked herself in the room with an electronic cigarette. About it on January 10 reports the SU of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the republic in Telegram-channel.

"The girl locked herself in the toilet, for a long time did not come out and did not respond. Concerned relatives broke the lock and found the body of the minor on the floor. Near her were a phone and an electronic cigarette (vape)", - stated in the message.

It is noted that at the moment the exact cause of death of the teenager is not known, for its establishment appointed forensic medical examination, as well as other necessary investigative actions. A criminal case has been opened.

On December 28 last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law, which provides for criminal liability for repeated sale of alcohol, tobacco and nicotine-containing products to minors. The law provides for a fine of 50 thousand to 80 thousand rubles, or corrective labor for up to one year with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.

Before that, on October 17, in Primorsky Krai, a 12-year-old schoolgirl was hospitalized with poisoning after smoking vape. It was reported that the schoolgirl sought medical help after classes in the afternoon. As a result, poisoning with nicotine-containing liquid was established.
