Members of a Ukrainian religious organization detained in Krasnoyarsk region

Members of a Ukrainian religious organization undesirable in the Russian Federation have been detained in Krasnoyarsk Region. This was announced by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in its Telegram channel on January 10.

"The suspects created a closed chat room in messenger, where they posted various information about the activities of the organization, attracted new participants to the community, observing conspiracy measures, regularly organized meetings and gatherings," the statement reads.

A criminal case has been opened against seven residents of the region. They are suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Implementation of the activities of a foreign or international organization, in respect of which a decision has been taken to recognize its activities undesirable in the territory of the Russian Federation).

Earlier, on December 12, law enforcement agencies conducted searches at the followers of the Ukrainian religious organization undesirable in the Russian Federation in Moscow and Moscow region. The events took place on December 11 and 12 at the addresses of residence of sectarians in the Moscow region. Documents and other items relevant to the criminal case on financing of an undesirable non-commercial organization (part 2 of article 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), which was opened at the same time, were found.
