The Federation Council (SF) has drafted a bill proposing to abolish the restriction on the period of care of one of the parents for a child counted in the insurance record. Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Andrei Kutepov told "RIA Novosti" about the creation of such a bill on January 9.

The document was sent for evaluation of the Deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian President Maxim Oreshkin.

The draft states that in the current legislation in the insurance record takes into account the period of care of one of the parents for each child "until they reach the age of one and a half years, but not more than six years in total."

In an explanatory note, Kutepov pointed out that the current legal regulation provides the possibility to count in the insurance record the time of care for only four children. Thus, parents of five or more children cannot receive such support, which is unfair in accordance with the importance of the role of large families in the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on December 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday following a meeting of the Council on Strategic Development and National Projects instructed to take measures to increase the birth rate in 2025.

On September 24, the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov was addressed by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education Yana Lantratova and the head of the faction "Just Russia - For Truth" Sergei Mironov with a request to assign in the regions of the Russian Federation with a low birth rate to families with children 1 million rubles to repay mortgages. The document, which is at the disposal of Izvestiya, states that measures aimed at supporting large families with three or more children have the greatest potential to improve the demographic situation.
