The alternation of waves of heat and relative cold will continue in Moscow and the Moscow region until the end of January, the meteorologist believes.

Until January 12, the average daily air temperature will remain positive, which exceeds the norm by 6-7 degrees.

"The beginning of next week is expected with a light frost. But this period of relatively frosty weather will not last long either. Everything points to the fact that in January frosts below -10...-12 degrees to the inhabitants of the capital will not wait," - said Pozdnyakova.

According to her, from the middle of next week the thaw will return to the region again.

"Now the forecasts tend to the fact that on Epiphany, January 18-19, the temperature regime will be closer to the thaw," - she noted.

At the same time, she said, a small snow may fall from January 12, which will make the landscape wintry. However, there will be less snow than it is supposed to be on these numbers of January.
