It is planned to improve the quality of living environment by 30% by 2030 and by 60% by 2036 in Russia's key population centers. This is reported on January 9 in a unified plan to achieve the national development goals of the Russian Federation until 2030 and with a forecast to 2036.

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin was appointed responsible for achieving the approved indicators.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in his address to the Federal Assembly instructed to identify 2 thousand reference settlements and develop 200 master plans.

Earlier, on January 9, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved a unified plan to achieve national development goals until 2030 and in the future until 2036. It is noted that the plan will become the main reference point in the work of the Cabinet, ministries, departments, regional administrations, development institutions and state companies to fulfill the tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On May 7, 2024, Putin signed a decree on the national development goals of the state for the period until 2030 and in the future until 2036. The decree envisages seven groups of goals. The first of them is aimed at preserving the population, improving the health and well-being of people in Russia, as well as supporting the family.
