The Security Directorate of the Moscow region reported a new type of fraud
On Thursday, January 9, the Main Directorate for Regional Security of the Moscow Region warned about the increasing number of fraudulent job search cases. The department noted that certain peculiarities of job search should be taken into account.
So, if a job seeker is offered a high salary for a simple job with no requirements for experience and education, it is most likely a trap of fraudsters, reports 360.ru. Instead of employment, victims may lose money or become an accomplice to a crime.
If the employer asks the job seeker to make a contribution, it should also never be done. One should also be wary if a potential employer asks to download any application.
The department added that job seekers can check the employer in several ways. So, it is worth studying the official website of the company, check the organization in the state registers, as well as to clarify the presence of lawsuits.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Interior Ministry named two schemes of fraudsters who steal money through "Gosuservices", RT reports.
The first scheme involves a call on behalf of a telecom operator. Then the attackers inform that the old contract expires and it must be extended, reports NSN.
After that, the subscriber's number receives an SMS with a code, with the help of which the criminals gain access to a personal account through the "Gosuslugi" system. Then they send a message that the user's account is blocked. Therefore, to correct this situation, it is necessary to transfer money to a safe account.
In the second scheme, fraudsters use the subscriber's old phone number, with the help of which they restore the account and send applications for loans and microloans, according to the website kp.ru.
