Two civilians were injured as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of Podo-Kalinovka village in Kherson Region. This was reported by Governor Vladimir Saldo on January 9.

"The village of Podo-Kalinovka of Alyoshkin municipal district was subjected to a massive shelling directed against the civilian population - 21 arrivals of cluster munitions were recorded," he wrote in his Telegram-channel.

Saldo specified that two men were wounded due to the AFU attack, they have light shrapnel injuries. The victims were taken to a medical assistant station for medical care. A school building, a bus, a civilian car and several private houses were also damaged.

The governor of Kherson region urged residents to observe precautionary measures and stay in safe places.

The day before, on January 8, a man was killed when a gas station in Novaya Kakhovka in Kherson region was shelled. Four other people were also injured, among them a pregnant woman.

Saldo drew attention to the fact that Ukrainian publications prefer to gloss over the fact that the AFU is destroying ambulances and life support systems of the civilian population on the left bank of the Dnieper. The head of the Kherson region emphasized the importance of making Ukrainians on the right bank of the river aware of the crimes of the Kiev regime.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
