The identity of an aggressive tiger has been established in Primorsky Krai

In Primorye, the "identity" of an aggressive tiger that kept residents of the Khasansky municipal district in fear has been revealed. Unsupervised dogs were often found in its habitat.

The press service of the National Park "Land of the Leopard" told PrimaMedia IA that on the night of January 9, specialists of Primorsky hunting supervision with the support of the National Park staff caught a conflict predator in the vicinity of the village of Filippovka. He regularly entered settlements and attacked domestic animals.

The tiger turned out to be an adult male in good condition. He was found to have no injuries or diseases. The animal was transported to the rehabilitation center of the public organization "Tiger" in the village of Alekseevka.

Experts found out that the tiger was T 115M. In 2022, it was captured on video against the backdrop of Vladivostok near the Peschany Peninsula. A camera trap first registered it in 2021. Now the tiger is at least five years old.

Specialists admit that the predator came out to populated areas because of the regular fixation of stray dogs in the vicinity. Often domestic animals from villages and settlements form packs and hunt wild spotted deer and roe deer, and eventually can become prey to tigers and leopards. Predators change their food behavior and come out to human habitation.

Now the red-listed animal is in the Center for Rehabilitation of Tigers and Other Rare Animals of the MROO "Tiger Center". It is planned to release it into the wild in the Sredneussuriisky wildlife preserve in Pozharsky district.

Earlier, December 28, it was reported that on the territory of Primorsky Krai in 2024 about 600 conflict situations with predatory animals were recorded. Seven animals were withdrawn from the wild.
