"The analysis of accident rates for the holidays showed that still a serious problem is the neglect of adults to the safety of children while traveling by car. Non-compliance with the established requirements for the transportation of small passengers, the arrogance of drivers who do not change their driving style when there is a child in the cabin, make rash and risky maneuvers, often lead to tragedies on the roads, in which children are killed and injured, - told "Izvestia" deputy head of the department of road safety propaganda and prevention of child traffic injuries of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Anton Belan.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Russian Federation clarified whether a driver can drink alcohol after a traffic accident. The Supreme Court considered the complaint of a driver from Karelia, who was deprived of his license for 1.5 years with a fine of 30 thousand rubles. It was established that he damaged the car by driving into a ditch, after which he consumed alcohol.
