- The first hearing in the case of the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge will be held on January 21
The first hearing in the criminal case against eight people accused of involvement in the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge in October 2022 will be held on January 21. This was reported by a court representative to TASS on January 9.
"The session is scheduled for 10:00 on January 21," - told the interlocutor.
According to the investigation's version, First Deputy Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Malyuk (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) and his accomplices manufactured an explosive device disguised as construction film in Ukraine. They then delivered it to the Crimean bridge on a truck driven by a man who did not know about their plans. The explosion, which occurred on October 8, 2022, killed the driver of the transport and four other people in the passenger car.
Earlier, on December 3 last year, a criminal case against eight persons accused of involvement in the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge was sent to the military court.
October 13, it became known that Malyuk was charged in absentia in the case of organizing a terrorist attack in the summer of 2023 on the Crimean bridge. He was charged under paragraph "b" part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act resulting in loss of life").
Back on May 23, Malyuk stated that one of the priority targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the Crimean bridge. He noted that Kiev was the first to use surface drones and that it had repeatedly attacked the Russian navy.
