Wife of ex-mayor of Sochi Kopaigorodsky extended house arrest
Meshchansky court has extended house arrest for the wife of former Sochi mayor Alexei Kopaigorodsky. This was reported to "Izvestia" by her lawyers on January 9.
Thus, Yanina Kopaigorodskaya will be under house arrest until February 17.
The woman is accused of mediation in the transfer of a bribe to her husband from a major businessman. She is also suspected of embezzlement of budget funds, as well as her husband.

The former mayor of Sochi was detained on September 25 last year in the special operation zone, the same day he was arrested. According to the latest information, he is suspected of receiving a bribe of 43 million rubles from a businessman through his wife.
In early October, the property of relatives of the former mayor was arrested. Yanina was detained on November 12, and the next day was sent under house arrest. The woman's credit accounts for 100 million rubles were arrested. Lawyer Ivan Mironov told Izvestia that Kopaigorodskaya is suspected of embezzlement together with her husband. In mid-November, the court extended the measure of restraint in the form of detention until February 17 to the ex-city governor himself.
Later, December 20, the lawyer of Kopaigorodsky's wife Elizaveta Metkina told "Izvestia" that the court left her client under house arrest. The woman is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Appropriation or embezzlement").
