The Ministry of Health reported on the serious condition of the victim of the fire in Engels

An Emergencies Ministry employee who took part in extinguishing a fire at an industrial plant after an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the AFU in Engels, Saratov Region, is in a hospital in serious condition. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Saratov region in the Telegram-channel on January 9.

"An employee of the fire department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who took part in extinguishing a fire at an industrial enterprise, which was attacked by a UAV, is in one of the medical institutions of the city of Saratov. <...> The condition is assessed as stably serious," the report says.

The agency added that the victim is provided with all the necessary medical care.

On January 8, Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin said that Saratov and Engels were subjected to a massive UAV attack and one of the industrial enterprises was damaged.

Later, an operational headquarters was deployed at the enterprise burning after the drone attack. Busargin added at the time that there were enough forces and means to localize the fire.

The armed forces of Ukraine are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to Ukrainian shelling.
