Almost 100 km of roads were built in Moscow for 2024, the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin said on January 9.
"25 new tunnels, flyovers, bridges and overpasses, as well as 15 crosswalks have appeared on the city map," reads Sobyanin's personal blog.
It is specified that in March 2024 after the reconstruction the traffic was opened on the interchange at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with Verkhniye Polya Street, the interchange on the highway towards the airport, the flyover-exit from the International Highway to the Leningradskoye Highway towards the center and the exit from the Leningradskoye Highway from the center to the International Highway towards the highway M-11 "Neva" were launched.
In addition, the construction of another section of the Solntsevo - Butovo - Varshavskoe highway and the program of reconstruction of interchanges on the Moscow Ring Road were completed, and a new road tunnel under the railway tracks of MCD-4 was opened.
"In the plans for the next two years - to build about 170 more kilometers of roads and 31 different artificial structures: a bridge, overpass, overpass, as well as 32 pedestrian crossings," - said Sobyanin.
Earlier, in December 2024, Maxim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of the capital on transport and industry, said that more than 500 innovative road signs have been installed in Moscow for 10 years. They warn drivers about accidents, works on the highway, bad weather, closures in the city.
According to Liksutov, over 10 years "over 350 large screens have been installed in the city and 160 small ones on the Moscow Ring Road for emergency information".
