The Russian Interior Ministry has named two schemes of fraudsters who steal money through "Gosuservices". This was reported in the press service of the agency on January 9.

The first scheme involves a call allegedly on behalf of the telecom operator. Then the attackers inform that the old contract expires and it must be extended.

After that, the subscriber's number receives an SMS with a code, with the help of which the criminals gain access to a personal account through the "Gosuslugi" system. Then they send a message that the user's account is blocked. Therefore, to correct this situation, it is necessary to transfer money to a safe account.

In the second scheme, fraudsters use the subscriber's old phone number, with the help of which they restore the account and send applications for loans and microloans.

"Such a subscriber number is registered to a new owner. Then on the website of the portal "Gosusgoservices" the password to the account is restored by entering a one-time code that comes to the subscriber number," - TASS quotes the message of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Earlier, December 30, 2024, the Interior Ministry reported on the activation of telephone scammers before the New Year. It is specified that at first the fraudsters trick the victim into taking a loan and give them the money. Then, when the victim tries to return the funds, the fraudsters convince her that she is involved in a covert operation to catch them, and under this pretext force her to commit a crime. In the end, the victim, who wanted to get her money back, is herself accused of committing a serious crime.
