Russia has no plans to introduce restrictions in educational institutions due to the metapneumovirus, an outbreak of which occurred in China. This was announced by Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov on January 8.

It is specified that there have been no appeals about the spread of the virus on the Russian territory from students. At the same time, the Ministry of Education conducts daily monitoring and keeps the situation under control.

"All educational institutions are fully equipped with everything necessary and ready for any development of the situation," - quotes the words of Kravtsov Telegram-channel of the Ministry.

Also the head of the Department added that in educational organizations due to the experience gained during the pandemic coronavirus, pay special attention to preventive measures.

Earlier, on January 5, China's Department of Disease Control and Prevention, citing the results of respiratory samples that were analyzed from December 23 to 29, 2024, reported an outbreak of human metapneumovirus in the country. It noted that it is actively spreading throughout the territory of China and mainly children under 14 years of age are exposed to the disease. People living in the northern provinces of the country are most often infected.

Later, Rospotrebnadzor reported that specialists are monitoring the epidemiological situation related to the increase in the number of metapneumovirus diseases in the PRC.
