Court bailiffs have started to turn over 1 billion rubles in bitcoins to the state income of former investigator of the Russian Federation Investigative Committee Marat Tambiyev, who was convicted in the case of a record bribe in cryptocurrency. This follows from the materials with which TASS got acquainted on January 9.

In the course of enforcement proceedings under the court decision, in which Tambiyev's bitcoins, which are on the Ledger Nano X hardware wallet for cryptocurrencies, are transferred to the state for the amount corresponding to more than 1 billion rubles.

In addition, the property of the former IC employee was arrested in accordance with another enforcement proceeding, which was opened on December 20, 2024. Bailiffs also levied enforcement fees from Tambiyev in the amount of 15 thousand rubles.

In October 2024, the Balashikha court of the Moscow region sentenced the ex-investigator to 16 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 500 million rubles. In addition, Tambiyev was stripped of the rank of major and banned from holding managerial positions for 12 years after his release.

His former employee Kristina Lyakhovenko was found guilty of bribery and abuse of power, falsification of evidence and results of operational and investigative activities. The court sentenced her to 9 years of general regime colony.

The investigation found that from 2020 to 2022, Tambiyev, as part of an organized group, extorted a bribe from members of the hacker group Infraud Organization for the termination of their criminal prosecution and the opportunity to hide cryptocurrency, which amounts to 14 billion rubles. The criminal case involves the largest bribe by size in the history of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on December 24, 2024, in Bashkiria, the chairman of the regional state committee for housing and construction supervision was detained for taking a bribe on a particularly large scale. Preliminary, he demanded from a commercial organization that was building a logistics center in the city of Blagoveshchensk, 2.5 million rubles for a positive opinion on the compliance of the object with the design documentation. A criminal case under part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was initiated against the chairman of the state committee.
