A shooting took place near the presidential palace in the Chadian capital N'Djamena. This was reported by Al Jazeera TV channel on January 8.

"Shooting near the presidential palace in the Chadian capital," Telegram channel Al Jazeera informed.

Chadian Infrastructure Minister Aziz Mahamat Saleh said the situation was under government control.

"Nothing serious, no panic, the situation is under control," Reuters quoted him as saying.

In turn, the TV channel Al Arabiya reported that there are dead and injured as a result of the shooting.

"There are dead and wounded as a result of the attack near the presidential palace of Chad," - said in a message on the network X (former Twitter) of the TV channel.

Earlier, on January 7, an unknown perpetrator opened fire at a machine-building plant in Bad Friedrichshalle in southern Germany, killing two people and seriously wounding one. Police are inspecting the scene. There is reportedly no danger to the public.
