In Penza, part of the balconies of an apartment building collapsed

Balconies of two floors partially collapsed on Builders Avenue in Penza, the Prosecutor's office of the Oktyabrsky district of the city organized an inspection. About it on January 8 on its website reported the Prosecutor's office of the Penza region.

"According to preliminary information, in the evening of January 8, 2025, there was a partial collapse of the balconies of the fourth and fifth floors of the apartment building No. 3 on Stroiteley Avenue in the city of Penza. The prosecutor's office of the Oktyabrsky district of the city of Penza organized an inspection of the implementation of housing legislation", - stated in the message of the agency.

Within the framework of these actions, specialists will find out under what circumstances the collapse occurred and what caused it. In addition, they will assess the legality of action or inaction of people, whose authority includes the timely organization of work on the maintenance and repair of the property of the residents of the house, which is in common use.

Based on the results of the inspection, the prosecutor's office will take the necessary response measures.

Earlier, on December 3, 2024, in Saratov in the entrance of an emergency residential building partially collapsed stairwell. No one was injured. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Saratov region reported that because of the incident a criminal case was initiated on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements (part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
