Man killed in AFU shelling of gas station in Kherson region
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have shelled a gas station in Novaya Kakhovka in Kherson Region, a man has been killed and four other people, including a pregnant woman, have been injured. This was reported by the Governor of the region Vladimir Saldo on January 8.
"In the afternoon they (AFU. - Ed.) shelled a gas station in Novaya Kakhovka, killing a 64-year-old man - a gas station operator. Four people were wounded up to heavy, including three women, including a pregnant 19-year-old," wrote Saldo in his Telegram-channel.
In addition, the AFU made artillery shelling of the village of Staraya Zburievka, which killed a woman born in 1941 and injured a 57-year-old man. On the night of January 8, the militants shelled Novokahivka hospital and damaged an ambulance. The governor indicated that all the injured were hospitalized, they are receiving the necessary assistance.
Saldo drew attention to the fact that Ukrainian publications prefer to gloss over the fact that the AFU destroy ambulances and life support systems of the civilian population on the left bank of the Dnieper. The head of the Kherson region emphasized the importance of making Ukrainians on the right bank of the river aware of the crimes of the Kiev regime.
Earlier, on December 30, 2024, the deputy chief physician Valeriy Borisov was killed and the chief physician Volodymyr Kharlan was seriously wounded when the Ukrainian armed forces shelled the Alyoshkin central district hospital in Kherson region, the second attempt on his life by Ukrainian militants.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at the time that the organizers of this attack on the hospital and other crimes of the Kiev regime would be inevitably punished.
The next day, the head of the Kherson Region government, Andriy Alekseenko, said that the AFU had struck the hospital in Aleshki again and burned down a mothballed school in Novaya Kakhovka. No one was killed in the repeated strike.
Later, on January 4, the regional health minister Artysh Sat said that Harlan would undergo surgery in Moscow, while the Alyoshki hospital continues to operate normally.
The AFU has been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid a special operation to protect Donbas, which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
