The Interior Ministry advised to hang up after offers to transfer money
After offers to transfer money to a "safe account" one should hang up. This was reported in the press center of the Russian Interior Ministry on January 8.
"If in the course of a telephone conversation the interlocutor offers to withdraw money and transfer it for deposit to a safe account, it is fraudsters. It is necessary to stop the conversation," the ministry told TASS.
The Interior Ministry added that employees of credit organizations do not ask their clients about funds, as they have access to information on accounts. It is necessary to be very attentive to the calls in order not to become a victim of fraudsters.
Earlier, on January 2, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation said that to hack into cell phones fraudsters began to use a scheme with the installation of applications for payment of housing and utilities services or doctor's appointments on the victim's mobile device. It was specified that these applications are not actually designed for this purpose. With their help, fraudsters gain remote access to the mobile device and steal money from the owners' cards.
