The Rostov region's acting governor reported five destroyed UAVs over the region

Air defense means (Air Defense Forces) eliminated five Ukrainian drones over several districts of the Rostov region during the past night, according to Yuri Slyusar, the governor's acting governor, on January 8.

"In the Rostov region, air defense forces and means destroyed five UAVs this night. The enemy attack was repelled in Millerovsky, Chertkovsky and Azovsky districts," he said in his Telegram channel.

As the head of the region noted, there were no casualties or damage as a result of the attempted attack.

Also on the night of January 8, the governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin said that the air defense forces eliminated an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the sky above the city of Engels, the hit of debris on an industrial facility was recorded.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
