The governor reported a drone shot down over the Saratov region

Air Defense Forces (Air Defense Forces) have eliminated an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the sky above the city of Engels, Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin said on January 8.

"The air defense forces shot down the UAV. There is a hit of debris on an industrial facility in Engels," the head of the region said in his Telegram channel.

As noted Busargin, fire crews and employees of operational services are working at the scene.

Earlier, on January 6, air defense forces destroyed four Ukrainian drones over Belgorod and Kursk regions. It is specified that the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the enemy were shot down within two hours - from 11:00 to 13:00 Moscow time.

At the same time, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that a man was injured as a result of an attack by an AFU drone on a moving car. He was transported to a medical facility with a mine blast injury and a dislocated shoulder.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
