Vinicius suspended for two matches for pushing Valencia goalkeeper
Brazilian striker of Spanish soccer club (FC) Real Madrid Vinicius Júnior is disqualified for two matches in the country's La Liga for pushing a Valencia player. This was reported on January 7 by the newspaper "Sport-Express".
The footballer was suspended on January 3 in the match against Valencia (2:1). Vinicius pushed the opponent's goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.
Because of the incident, the athlete will miss the matches against Las Palmas (January 19) and Valladolid (January 25) in La Liga. At the same time, he will be able to participate in the game against Mallorca in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup on January 9.
In addition, Real Madrid was fined €700 thousand, and Vinicius - €600.
Earlier, on December 27, 2024, Vinicius Júnior was named player of the year by the Globe Soccer Awards. The award ceremony was held in Dubai. Thirty-three soccer players were also on the shortlist, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Erling Holand, Rhodri, Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal.
