The bodies of two people were found in the landing gear compartment of a JetBlue airline plane that landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport, Florida. This was reported by The Mirror newspaper on January 7, citing a spokesperson for the airline.

"On the evening of Monday, January 6, <...> during a routine post-flight maintenance check, two people were found in the landing gear compartment of one of our aircraft. Unfortunately, both people died," the publication quoted.

A JetBlue spokesperson noted that the identities of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the access to the aircraft are being established at the moment. The airline said it was going to work closely with authorities during the investigation.

According to flight tracking website Flight Aware, the aircraft departed John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and arrived in Florida 28 minutes late.

Earlier, on June 3, 2024, Utair reported that a cat died on board flight UT 783 Moscow - Antalya due to the heat. It was noted that during the flight the pet ran out of the carrier, but it was put back in because of the presence on board of passengers with allergies. After landing, the owners discovered that the animal had passed away.
