A criminal case was initiated after six snowmobiles with 11 people fell through the ice on Lake Konchezero in Karelia. This was reported on January 7 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICRF) in the republic.

"Based on the results of verification of the information received about the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements when riding a tourist group on snowmobiles, investigators of the investigation department for the city of Petrozavodsk of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Karelia initiated criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services dangerous to human life or health")", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the department.

At the moment, investigators are establishing the details of the incident.

Six snowmobiles with people fell through the ice in Karelia on January 6. The victims got to the surface on their own. Rescuers brought people to the shore. They were provided with medical care.
