Two people died as a result of a fire in a private residential house in Ishim, Tyumen. This was reported by the press service of the EMERCOM of the Russian Federation in the region on January 7.

According to the agency, the fire occurred at about four o'clock in the morning local time. The cause was careless handling of fire.

"Employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry liquidated the fire on a total area of 35 square meters. Unfortunately, two people died as a result of the incident (identities are being established)," the report said.

The Emergencies Ministry added that 14 employees and four units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Earlier in the day, two people died and three suffered as a result of a fire in a house in Frunzensky district of St. Petersburg. The fire occurred in a two-room apartment on the area of 30 square meters. meters.
